Azzawaj Women & Children Intervention Centre (AWIC) is a family-focussed, non-profit organization headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital city. Its primary goal is to respond to social challenges confronting the family system and society at large. It does this through direct interventions to women, children (Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)) as well as to the most vulnerable persons in poor and underserved communities.

The Centre was borne out of the need to respond and contribute to efforts aimed at addressing the many challenges within the family and marriage institutions. Specifically, the Centre’s interventions and programmes are directed at fostering productive and prosperous society through the family system as well as addressing the needs of orphans and vulnerable children with special emphasis on the girl-child….

Our projects/programmes/interventions take us to rural and semi-urban communities across the country and particularly across Northern Nigeria. Regardless of the location, we go to where there is distress and where interventions are needed. The whole essence is to provide assistance to the most vulnerable wherever and whenever such is needed.

To improve the welfare of underprivileged women, children, and youths through empowerment, education and other developmental activities thereby assuring them of a better and more secure future.
