Background

AWIC was borne out of the need to respond and contribute to efforts aimed at addressing basic challenges associated with the wellbeing of the most vulnerable in society – poverty and deprivation. Specifically, our interventions and programmes are deliberately geared towards addressing issues surrounding education, economic wellbeing and sustainable living of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), women and other vulnerable populations in poor and underserved communities. The goal is to ensure that these vulnerable groups have better, more secured and sustainable future.

The broad objective of AWIC’s interventions is the strengthening and improvement of the livelihoods of families and the welfare of the less-privileged in society, including children through various initiatives, programmes and activities.
